Here is details of the the Appy Wanderers 2010 Ride Out programme, which is open to any member of GWOCGB or any Goldwing owner wishing to enjoy the company of fellow Wingers and great roads.
The Trough of Bowland, April 4th. Over 20 Wanderers came out to play today, it was breezy, cloudy and cold to start with, later the clouds cleared and it warmed up, even the sun came out for a minute or two. A good start to our season!
April 18th
Derbyshire’s hidden roads, we bypass Matlock and explore a few hidden, not so well known places. 25 Wanderers on 11 bikes 3 trikes held the APPY WANDERERS ”meeting” on the wing, so to speak! Everyone really enjoyed the day, it started off clear and sunny ending with some cloud and a light breeze, Tea in Matlock, “cupasoups” at Blue John Cavern and cream scones at Holmfirth
May 2nd… The NO tea and scones run
Our Tea and Scones run to Langley Castle had to be re arranged due to them having a double wedding booked! So the “NO TEA AN NO SCONES RUN” was born and so seventeen wingers on ten bikes turned up in Ripon square for the rideout to Hawes….. 160 miles away via Northumbria was born! A cold blustery day riding good empty roads was had by the lucky Wanderers of the day, lunch today was at the famous Hartside Top Cafe ( near Penrith) a mere 580 metre above sea level! Which you could see away in the distance
29-31st May …Wanderers Weekend away. PITLOCHRY Scotland
Pitlochry was our base for the weekend. Most used the hotel some used B+B’s and a local couple stayed in their tin tent on a nearby caravan sight, We went on a run up to Inverness and back down Loch Ness on Saturday. The ever present drizzle and overcast did not ruin the day. Sundaywas the jewel this weekend with a run up to Fort William in the magnificent Glen Coe, The sun joined us this day as Scotland showed us her best side..The Team Photo is of most at the Commando memorial near Spean Bridge
(No ride out in June at the moment) because we are away on the fact-finding trip to Italy for the 2011 tour.
July 11th… THE YORKSHIRE AIR MUSEUM ELVINGTON.
THE RIDEOUT TO EAST KIRKBY (Home of “JUST JANE” THE LANCASTER BOMBER) WAS CANCELLED DUE TO EVENTS OUT OF OUR CONTROL……So we had a day at The Yorkshire Air Museum at Elvington nr York in West Yorkshire. at total of 24 solos and trikes turned up. We gathered at Thirsk and explored it thoroughly before heading the pretty way along the back roads to Elvington, a sunny and warm day with some cloud followed a very windy start, we finished up at Squires Cafe for a final tea stop and the final split for home. The shortst rideout to date with under 100 miles in total but still a great day.
August 8th
Coast to coast. We head from one coast to the other, east to west, following the sun, country lanes all the way….NEWFLASH!!……….NEWSFLASH!!………NEWSFLASH!!………

New to the web site and new to the Goldwing……
Could someone advise if the airfield tour on 11/07/10 is full, closed, by invite or what and where is the meeting point. Gail and I would love to join in.
Hope to hear from someone soon.
Many thanks
